The Penguin Project is a heartwarming initiative created by Dr. Andrew Morgan, a developmental pediatrician, to give children with special needs the chance to shine in the performing arts. Dr. Andy, who’s passionate about both child development and community theatre, started the project to show that with the right support and opportunity, kids with special needs can rock the stage just like anyone else!​

Each young artist is paired with a peer mentor, a typical peer who supports them throughout rehearsals and performances—sharing the stage and making the magic happen together! It's an experience that brings joy not only to the performers but also to their families, friends, and audience members who get to experience their magical and heartwarming performance.

The Penguin Project welcomes all individuals ages 10-22 with developmental disabilities, regardless of cognitive ability, mobility, or communication skills, as long as they’re safe to participate and can perform with only the support of peer mentors.
